The other nite, dear,
As I lay sleeping
I dreamed I held you in my arms.
When I awoke, dear,
Must've been three digits in LA this past weekend. I knew I was going to have a great time as soon as Saej picked me up with her kick-ass van, dressed in bikinis, hair dripping wet. We headed towards k-town through Inglewood with windows down, and the warm evening breeze felt so welcoming. Saw many familiar faces that I haven't seen for too long. Maybe it's nostalgia of college life, or maybe I'm just getting more emotional with old age, but there's this feeling that I cannot explain. I wanted the weekend to last forever... fall alseep on the hot beach sand, spring for korean cold noodles for lunch, spend half an hour deciding on a necklace, hitting the ghettoest LA clubs... there's just something about the weekend I do not, and has never felt in norcal. I thought really hard about this, and my only conclusion so far is that vitamin D from natural sunlight makes me happy. This SF 50 degrees is making me sick, sick of the lifestyle here. Can someone find me a beach?

Tuesday, May 30, 2006

done and done and done...........

what's going on lately?... nothing but studying!! damn reading comprehension and data sufficiencey! good thing it'll alllllll be over in one week.... hopefully.
last week, my coworker and I went to the post office to mail mother's
day cards before lunch, and we got a call from our older coworker K,
who told us on the phone that we had to drop whatever we were doing and
return to the office immediately because there's an emergency. We're
like, eh? what could it be? K would't say, but he sounded really
serious. Plus we were out during business hour, so we were like, uh oh,
maybe we got in trouble somehow. So we ran back the three blocks, ran,
note that I was on high heels, it was really hot outside, and we almost
got ran over by a fire truck, all this time I'm thinking "what could it
possibly be?? did I miss a client call??" And by the time we got back
to the building, K was waiting downstairs waving us in. We were like
"yikes... this must be bad.." I asked him "what happened?" K said "i
gotta tell this to everyone together." So we get back upstairs,
everyone in the group (except for boss, who was out) was gathered
together, we dropped everything we were doing at the time for this
"emergency meeting", K said in a serious but excited tone: "so-and-so
from the other group quit. she'll be here till June" ... I'm like
"WTF?? (ok, i didn't say that, the rest I did) Are you serious? You had
me RUN all the way back, almost broke my heel, could've twisted my
ankle, and already feeling a blister forming, sweating like a pig, just
to tell me that so and so quit? And she's not even leaving yet!!...
blah blah blah" I think I chewed him out pretty badly, and he didn't
come to work the next day, maybe feeling ashamed, who knows.
But seriously, wtf? Although her work does somewhat support our's, but
it was nowhere urgent enough for it be an "emergency" that would
require me to "return to the office immediately." He is such a big
baby, everyone was rolling their eyes, going uhmm.... okay.... He just
totally lost his credibility and made a fool out of himself. Next
time, it'll only be an emergency if the building was burning down or
somebody died or something, even then, there'd be nothing for me to do
about it anyways! sooooo ridiculous.
Ok, enough of my complaints . What's
the best invention since sliced bread?? Zappos.com!!! I've ordered like
four batches of shoes already, three of which I've returned, and
waiting on another. Their shipping is so fast and return hassel free!
It is sooo addicting browsing through everything and ordering away...,
just wish one of these shoes would fit so that I can finally keep a
pair!

---------------------------------------

White House Ceremony Welcoming President Hu...

disrupted by stupid heckler! can you see the craziness in her face?
Falun Da Fa my ass. It's a cult that brainwashes their blind followers
into political stance against the government. All of their followers
are not mentally stable and manipulated to embarrass all Chinese
people in an event like today's. What is achieved by the shouting
and protests? Putting shame on the people who are representing
your own country? What good comes out of that when China is trying to
balance its relationship with the US? What does it achieve other than
having China being laughed at and looked down upon by the world?
Nothing but an embarrassement to all Chinese people, these Falun Gong
protestors are the true traitors to China, bringing instability to
society. It's time for all Chinese to come together and work towards
bettering our image, not destroying it.
